In what kind of cases will you need TRP:
- If you are an international student for 2 or 4 years but you have entered Lithuania with a 6 months or 12 months visa.
- If your old TRP is expiring soon and you need to renew it.
- Other unavoidable reasons.
When to apply:
- Four/five months before your visa expires
- Two months before your old TRP expires
STEPS:
- Prepare documents:
- Bank statement: 2500 euros for 1-year TRP; 5000 euros for 2 years; You can ask for the bank statement in bank in person or order it online.
- Passport copy: Photocopies of the front page, the address page and all the other pages you have seals on; For TRP renewal old TRP copies are needed.
- Application form: The application for must be printed and filled. The links to application forms for TRP and for TRP renewal.
- Passport photos: White background. Can be taken in IKI Building (you can’t find the photo studio easily so ask people around) https://goo.gl/maps/U3W3L9x6a8u on the way to migration office.
- Document from university international office: ask in the international office, they will only issue it if you have no debts like tuition fees or dorm fees. You can only receive it one week after you have ordered it.
- Police clearance certificate from your country or “certificate(s) from (a) competent authority(ies) of (a) foreign state(s) where the alien lived before coming to the Republic of Lithuania and (or) currently lives, confirming that the alien was (not) convicted in the corresponding state(s)” – as stated by the migration dept.
- Register an appointment: To register click here; In case you don’t find free slots for suitable days. Its advisable to go to the migration office directly and wait for the ones with appointment to finish and finish your work Or check the migration office in Vilnius and Klaipeda and book an appointment there if its convenient for you.
- When you go to apply make sure to have all the documents ready with 86 EUR (TRP fee to get document in 4 months) or 172 EUR (Urgent processing fee to get document in 2 months). You can opt for urgent processing only if you have less than 4 months before your visa or TRP expires at the time of applying.
- Assuming that you finally finished applying, kindly wait for four months(New TRP)or two months(renewed TRP)to receive the Decision made through the email you provided in the application form.
- Once you have the decision. Prepare your health insurance for your TRP period. You can buy Gjensidige health insurance at the entrance police station(the same building) for 38,60 euro for one year and 77,20 euros for two years. Take your insurance , old TRP(if you have), passport and 28 euros to pay for the card. Go to room 114. Submit your documents, they will take your picture and fingerprints and inform you when you should come back to collect your card.
- On the day you were asked to come take address proof, you can ask for it in dormitory group in dorm 10 on the first floor beforehand. You can only get it the next day so collect it and got to migration office you will get your TRP.
- Keep this document very safe it’s as important as your passport. Carry it with you all times.
